Before I go any further I'd just like to add that I'm very aware of the un-chartered times we're in, and my thoughts go out to all who are professionally and/or personally impacted by COVID-19. I know I have been.
 
 

 
 
My name is Matt, and I have a wife and 2 kids. A little girl Vivian who is about to turn 2, and a little boy (Sawyer) who is just over 9 months. Along with a husky named Eli.
 
My goal is to take the video above and re-do it with professional 3D animation(s), high-end video editing, sound fx, a new voice-over... in short, a full re-creation and re-production.
 
Overall, I like the purity in Kobe's "Dear Basketball" and yet I think it would be nice to go in the opposite direction and show what Kobe did for basketball, he brought a lot of different fans together, which would show up in this project, different styles of graphics, animation, real footage, and video effects all woven together into one artistic piece. It would be an attempt to parallel with the idea of people all over the world watching & playing the same game.
 
It has been a lot of work to create and design not only the storyboard for a new video but a line of swag that would be appealing enough and really give you a sense of value if you donate to this project. Hopefully, you'll agree.
 
 
Here is a high-level list of what has been done so far:
  • Secured the work of a high-quality 3D Animation Company and worked towards a nearly complete storyboard.
  • Hired extremely talented rotoscoper for change of pace in animation style (this work has already been created/done and paid for)
  • Secured a professional voice-over for the screen that is much better than mine in the video above :-)
  • Obtained a professional production quality graphics editor who can bring all of the components of the video together and make them as cinematic as possible.
  • Added new pieces and lines to the script.
  • Created designs for different pieces of clothing, including exclusive shoes I designed myself and you can't get anywhere else (seriously).
  • Worked with multiple vendors to line up pricing, shipping, production... etc so that I could accurately create the packages below and be more prepared for the fulfillment of each reward.
  • lost sleep thinking about how bad I want this to happen.

The MambaOnThree Fund was created to honor Team Mamba’s mantra, “Mamba on Three.” It’s with that customary chant for togetherness, sisterhood and the ability to take on every challenge that this Fund was named.

The MambaOnThree Fund exists to honor and support loved ones of the seven other victims involved in the tragedy that occurred on January 26, 2020. All donations to the Fund will be directed to their families.

The Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation, a 501(c)(3), exists to further Kobe and Gianna Bryant’s legacy through charitable endeavors in sports.

Custom-Designed Basketball
This is a custom-designed basketball with half Mamba, and half normal leather. We all have a light and a dark side to us. Kobe found a way to take any demons or darkness inside him and use it as fuel to do great things like dunk on people and hit game-winners.
 
The 8 is done as 2 halos. RIP to Kobe, Gigi, and all.
 
The 2 is done in white but retains the gold trim to bring in the fact that Gigi's number is 2, and how it perfectly fits into a bigger message.
 
24 has come to stand for so much more than just a jersey at this point, so it's in the middle to symbolize how Father and Daughter tied into one. A symbol of how they started, how they lived, and... how they passed.
 
I ordered one already just to check the quality and the printing, and the ball itself is very high-quality. This reward will also come with a display stand to set on!
 
Of course, I'd be flattered if you thought it was awesome enough to put in a glass case, but that's up to you. Or it can be played with and a constant reminder when you're out there practicing to be at your best... always. Scuffs add character.

Ahhh the shoes. I am extremely excited about these! These are 100% Certified Made In Italy.
 
As of right now I have not made these available to the public, and depending on the feedback from this site, I might not make them public at all. I will update you on that.
 
I designed each pair and all of these custom shoes are handmade by master Italian craftsman from pristine Italian leather. DREAM FARM STUDIOS: DreamFarmStudios.com
This is the company that is doing the 3D animation. Some of their reference work is below, and it barely scratches the surface. I have been working with them for months - and now it's down to funding to move this forward!
 
*These are merely sketches, some of them poses, and others are concept sketches from the storyboard. As soon as I get enough funding I'll work towards providing a short trailer animation to give a real feel for the production level of work they do as well!
 

 
 
The "Rotoscoper': Antonis Smirniotis "smado": I just call him "The Rotoscoper"
 
Smado is amazing. He has finished this work and it is embedded below with a watermark over it for now. He did the sound, and frame-by-frame pieced this work together. He was super easy to work with and I want to credit him for the ideas in this as he put a ton of detail into these 24 seconds of beautiful animation.

When we reach $60,000.00 this project is a go and all rewards will start to be fulfilled while the new video is being worked on.
 
If we go over the 60k Target, then we'll look at Unlocking Potential Milestones 
If we get funded and go beyond the numbers needed. Then we'll look to do some other ideas that I had.
They will be done in animation as something to play during or after the credits to all the people who help this get created!

Ideas: working out projections on amounts so they may be adjusted - I'll remove this sentence after I finalize some details and quotes from Dream Farm Studios and others:

$70,000: A heartfelt gift and hand-written letter to Vanessa... from all of us! We can frame the letter and we'll take input on what to get her and her daughters as a gift for her strength, and courage to carry on without Gigi & Kobe in physical form.

$90,000: Some of Kobe's most iconic highlights and Gigi's (that I can find footage of) recreated in animation.

$108,000: Maui and Moana vs Mamba & Gigi - highlighted animations with remix to song: "Your Welcome" - this would have new lyrics to the song and a 2 on 2 basketball game in either "The Realm of Monsters" for 'something' shiny, or maybe Maui's hook. I felt like this would be fun and different.

 

In the end there is hope that this video will also help towards the movement of changing the NBA Logo to memorialize Kobe within the game of basketball forever.
